Three More Arrested in Bajpe Murder Case, Police Continue Hunt for Accused

Mangaluru, May 15, 2025: In a major development in the Bajpe murder case, the Mangaluru police have arrested three more individuals linked to the brutal killing of 30-year-old Hindu activist Suhas Shetty on May 1.

The arrested have been identified as Azharuddin (29) of Kalavaru village, Abdul Khader (24) of Bajpe, and Naushad (39) of Farangipete in Bantwal taluk. According to the police, Azharuddin had provided crucial details about Shetty's movements to the assailants and has past theft charges in Mulky, Surathkal, and Panambur. Khader assisted in the getaway by helping the attackers flee in a car, while Naushad, with a history of serious crimes, was reportedly directly involved in the attack.


The three accused were presented before a jurisdictional magistrate, who remanded them to police custody for seven days for further interrogation. With these arrests, the total number of people detained in the case has risen to eleven. Police sources confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects. The incident took place when a group in two vehicles intercepted Shetty’s car in Bajpe and hacked him to death in front of his companions, sending shockwaves through the region.
