Bengaluru: A public disagreement has erupted between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari over the scheduling of a major infrastructure event in Shivamogga. In a strongly worded post on X, Siddaramaiah expressed frustration, stating that his office received an official invitation for the July 14 inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremony only on July 11, clashing with a pre-scheduled state-level event in Vijayapura. He criticized the lack of prior consultation, arguing that true cooperative federalism demands meaningful engagement with state governments. Gadkari’s ministry had invited Siddaramaiah to preside over the event, even offering a virtual option, but the late notice has sparked debate.
