Mangaluru to Welcome Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Soon: Minister V. Somanna

Union Minister of State for Railways Shri V Somanna along with Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta flagged off the Mangalore Central - Subrahmanya Road Passenger Rail Extension. Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader, MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty Y., Vedavyas Kamath, Bhagirathi Murulya & officials were present.

Union Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna, has announced that Mangaluru will soon be equipped with a Vande Bharat sleeper train. Somanna stated that the Railways will receive Vande Bharat sleeper coaches within two months, and Mangaluru is slated to benefit from this addition.

In addition to the new sleeper train, Minister Somanna revealed plans to upgrade Mangaluru Junction and Mangaluru Central railway stations. A master plan has been prepared, with tenders set to be floated following discussions with officials in Delhi. The ministry has already allocated ₹19 crore for various development works at Mangaluru Junction station, with 85% of the projects completed and the remainder progressing swiftly.
