Mangaluru: A horrifying incident of gang rape has come to light from the quiet outskirts of Ullal city, near the Netravati river, shaking the local community. Late Wednesday night, a young woman from West Bengal was reportedly lured and assaulted by three men near Bolla House, on the border of Munnuru village and Ullal Municipality. The woman, who had recently arrived in Mangaluru seeking work and was residing in Uppala, Kerala, had been left alone after a dispute with a male companion. Seeking help, she approached an auto-rickshaw driver who allegedly offered assistance but instead drugged and sexually assaulted her with two accomplices.

Injured and in a semi-conscious state, the victim managed to reach a nearby residence and knocked on the door pleading for water before collapsing. The shocked residents quickly alerted authorities, and she was rushed to a hospital, where doctors confirmed multiple injuries and symptoms of intoxication. Police have arrested one suspect—an auto-rickshaw driver—while a manhunt is underway for the remaining accused. Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal visited the scene, assuring the public of a thorough investigation and swift justice.
