Mangaluru, May 3, 2025 — In a significant breakthrough, Mangaluru police have arrested eight individuals in connection with the brutal murder of Suhas Shetty, a case that has reignited communal tensions in the coastal city. The arrests were made from various parts of the Mangaluru district following a swift and coordinated investigation. Addressing the media on Saturday, Mangaluru Police Commisioner confirmed that the accused are currently being interrogated and assured that justice would be delivered without delay.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Safwan (29), Niyaz (28), Mohammed Muzamil (32), Kalandhar Shafi (31), Ranjith (19), Nagraj (20), Mohammed Rizwan (28), and Adil Maharoof, brother of Fasil. Among them are returnees from Saudi Arabia, local drivers, and laborers, all hailing from diverse backgrounds. The case has stirred strong reactions across communities, with authorities urging the public to maintain peace and avoid speculation as the investigation continues.
